Nepal Police tightening election-focused security
KathmanduF. In order to conduct the upcoming House of Representatives Election, 2082 in a free, fair, fearless and reliable environment, the police has started to strengthen the security system by creating the 'Integrated Security Plan, 2082'. In view of the upcoming elections, Nepal Police has made manpower mobilization and management more effective. The Central Spokesperson of Nepal Police, Deputy Inspector General of Police Avinarayan Kafle informed that the Nepal Police is determined to complete the election by taking into account the decisions received from the Election Commission and making maximum use of the available resources and means.
Stating that election-targeted patrols have been made more effective and widened, he said that so far long-distance patrols have been conducted 1,366 times and short-distance patrols have been conducted 3,89,960 times. He informed that 13 lakh 46 thousand 328 manpower was deployed in these patrols.
Day by day, the police is increasing the patrol more effectively to control activities like vandalism and arson related to the issue of elections. Kafle says, "In order to conduct the elections in a fear-free environment, the police are conducting regular patrols along with information collection, threat assessment, analysis and effective flow. In order to control the infiltration and criminal activities in the border area, the police are conducting regular monitoring and effective operations."
He said that necessary security strategies have been adopted to strengthen the security management of candidates, voters, political party leaders, important persons, election observers, media persons, election propaganda and victory procession.
