Naima's interest in EV motor capacity dispute, urges government to make clear standards
Kathmandu. Nepal Automobile Importers and Manufacturers Association Naima has said that it has drawn attention to the recent comments, discussions and explanations regarding the motor capacity of electric vehicles 9EV0.
Naima issued a statement on Friday and said that a clear, practical and consistent arrangement is needed for EV motor capacity testing, certification and technical evaluation. Naima mentioned that discussions have been held with the Minister of Finance, Minister of Industry and Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
According to NAIMA, the EV vehicles being imported into Nepal are being imported based on official technical specifications, test reports and certification procedures of internationally recognized manufacturing companies. It said that it is an international practice that vehicles of the same model are produced with different technical specifications according to different countries and markets, and it is not possible to draw conclusions about the motor capacity based only on websites or external details.
