Nagadhunga-Malekhu road open from today, work going on
Kathmandu. Nagadhunga-Malekhu road section will remain open for a few days from today. Keshav Prasad Ojha, Head of Nagdhunga-Muglin Road Plan Eastern Section, said that the second layer of black sheet work has been completed in the narrow part of Nagadhunga-Piplamod section and difficult hill cutting work in Galchi-Gajuri section of Dhading is left. From November 24th to January 1st, the road was closed for 5 hours daily to improve the road.
The road department has given the highest priority to the blacking of the Nagadhunga-Piplamod section of the said road, which is within the Kathmandu district, and has done the second level of blacking. Now, because the road needs to be widened in Pokhrebhir area of Galchi-Gajuri section of Dhading, which is narrow and dangerous, the road from Nagadhunga to Piplamod and in Pokhrebhir area from 24th of August to 1st of December was closed from 10:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
It was decided to open the road on the 26th and 27th after receiving complaints that the closure of the road affected the UML convention. A team of youth union close to UML had met Physical Infrastructure and Transport Minister Kulman Ghising and asked him not to close some roads. After two days in the afternoon, the black paper work was stopped and the road was opened.
