Monsoon is expanding to more states

Kathmandu.  Monsoon air in Nepal is gradually expanding across the country. According to the Water and Weather Forecast Division, monsoon has already affected the entire region of Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces as well as the eastern part of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces, while the western and local winds have partial influence in the rest of the region.

There is a possibility that the monsoon will fully extend in the next four to five days in the areas yet to reach the monsoon, including Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. At present, it is generally cloudy in the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country and partly cloudy in the Terai region, and there are light rains with thunder and lightning in few places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki regions.

The department has predicted that it will be generally cloudy in most of the Himalayan, hilly and terai areas of Madhesh and Koshi provinces in the afternoon. There is a possibility of moderate rain with thunder and lightning at some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces as well as Lumbini, Karnali and one or two places in the hilly areas of Sudurpaschim province. Also, light snowfall is estimated in the high Himalayan region.
