Mirage group protest in Maitighar, some arrested
Kathmandu. A group of Zenji leader Miraj Dhungana has arrested some youths during the protest in Maitighar Mandla. The police arrested 5 people including Ravikiran Hamal. Youth including Miraj Dhungana protested at Maitighar Mandla demanding the formation of an all-party government. The participants in the demonstration demanded that elections should be held only after the formation of an all-party government.
They are carrying placards that read 'Genji's demand is not elections, but good governance'. On Monday morning, the protestors gathered at Maitighar Mandla raised slogans against the government. The protesters alleged that the Sushila Karki-led interim government failed to understand the spirit of the Genji movement and the sentiments of the young generation. They started a street protest with 10 points of demand.
A large number of police were deployed in Maitighar area during the demonstration. Although the security arrangements have been tightened, some Zenji protesters have been arrested by the police.
