Madhes police officer pulled up for investigation, charges related to smuggling

Birganj. The police head office has pulled 31 traveling policemen working under the Madhes state police for investigation. They were called to the center after a letter from the head office, administration branch. According to sources, an investigation has been started against the police personnel suspected of being involved in the management of illegal traffic at the border crossing. It is alleged that they are connected with the smuggling of clothes, food, hardware and electronics through the border from Parsa, Bara, Rautahat to Saptari.
The action of the head office has sent a message of tightening the control of smuggling in Madhes, while the claims of the provincial police leadership regarding good governance have also been questioned.
