Kathmandu. Lakshmi Puja is being performed this evening on the third day of Yama Panchak, the goddess of wealth, wealth and prosperity. Based on the belief that Lakshmi does not live in a house that is clean and tidy, Lakshmi is invited by making the house clean and tidy this morning. Today, Diwali is done by cleaning especially the windows, doors, chota, room, Sanghar, Kausi, Attali and Vharyang.

The night of Kartik Krishna Aunsi, when Lakshmi is worshipped, is also known as Sukharatri. For Lakshmi Puja, this evening, Lakshmi is installed from the courtyard through the Muldhoka to the room where Lakshmi is to be worshiped. Step by step, a lamp is lit on a piece of banana or clay to make it shimmer.

After Diwali, Lakshmi is installed in the pooja room along with lamps, kalash and Ganesha and offerings of jewellery, money, paddy, rice, fruits, cell roti and flower garlands are offered to Lakshmi. After Lakshmi Puja, there is a tradition of giving Dakshina to girls and girls, considering them as symbols of Lakshmi. It is a religious belief that after Lakshmi Puja at home today, if you send wealth or other items outside the house, Lakshmi will go out.

Prof. Dr. Devmani Bhattarai, a theologian and a member of the Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee, informed that there is a classical method of Lakshmi Puja performed during the evening time and at midnight, the women of the house bang their anklets and pray that 'Alaxmi Bhago Lakshmi and Dhan Dhanya may come'. In the evening, girls form groups and play bhilo at home. Bhailo is played to commemorate the five days of Yamapanchaka, when Baliraja, who was blessed to rule all three worlds by Lord Vishnu, asked him to sing from house to house asking for good. He says that the word "good" has been corrupted over time and has become "bad".
