Kathmandu. Air pollution in Kathmandu Valley is still high. Compared to the past few days, the pollution has increased even more. The sun was not shining in the valley since the 22nd of February. There is no wind. Due to the election, the traffic was thin for a few days, but now the pollution of the same vehicles has increased again.
According to the Environment Department, the level of pollution is increasing in different parts of the country due to adverse weather conditions in the past few days. It is said that dust particles have increased especially in the big cities of the country including Kathmandu and Pokhara. According to Air Quality Index AQI, the air quality index of Kathmandu Valley is very bad. AQI 201 was held on Tuesday morning. It was 200 on Monday.
Along with this, Kathmandu has been listed as the second most polluted city in the world on Monday and Tuesday. In the first place on Tuesday morning is Delhi, India. On the other hand, the Ministry of Health and Population has urged everyone to avoid air pollution. Ministry spokesperson Dr. Prakash Budhathoki has urged everyone to avoid air pollution in Kathmandu Valley. He urged people to be aware because air pollution can cause problems in the heart, blood vessels, lungs, asthma, cancer, eyes, kidneys, etc.
