Jail sentence for those who spread chaos in the banking sector, the National Bank has given a final warning

Main News Image

Kathmandu. Nepal Rastra Bank has said that it has drawn serious attention to the unprofessional and disorderly activities targeting banks and financial institutions and their employees in recent days.

The Central Bank has issued a statement warning against any activity that would affect basic services such as social security allowance, remittances and savings when banking access has been reached at all local levels through the joint efforts of the government, National Bank and financial institutions.

It is also reminded in the statement that under the Banks and Financial Institutions Act, 2073, providing loans, monitoring projects and recovering loans are the main tasks of banks.

The National Bank has made it clear that since the banks invest the deposits collected from the general public as loans, if the borrower does not pay the loan on time, it will be difficult to return the depositor's money and it will have a serious impact on the overall liquidity.

It is said that if there is any difficulty in loan payment due to any adverse circumstances, the National Bank facilitates it from time to time through facilities such as restructuring and rescheduling, and if there is any complaint in the banking transaction, there is a provision that complaints can be made to the relevant organization or the National Bank's complaint hearing mechanism.
