Kathmandu. CPN-UML Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel has announced his candidacy for the presidency. He announced his candidacy for the post of President in the 11th National Congress by issuing a statement today. He has said that he has announced his candidacy by accepting the requests and suggestions of leaders and workers from all over the country for the reorganization and transformation of the party.
He also said that he expected President KP Sharma Oli to play a positive role in the transfer of leadership. Aiming at the convention to be held in Kathmandu on November 27-29, Pokharel expressed his respect for the political journey of the UML from Janan leader Madan Bhandari until now and emphasized the need for the party to undergo a serious self-examination and reorganization of the organization in the current political situation. He commented that the incident after August 23 has brought the responsibility of bringing the Constitution's guidelines back on the right track.
