Kathmandu. Spokesperson of Nepali Congress Dr. Prakasharan Mahat has said that if the interim government cannot hold elections on time and form a new parliament, then the disbanded House of Representatives should be re-established. He opined that if the election is delayed, the constitutional confusion will increase and an alternative way should be adopted to avoid it.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the Nepal National Dalit Social Welfare Association, Spokesperson Mahat clarified that elections are the first priority.

Parliament had to be formed through elections. If the government can't do that, I think the parliament should be re-established," he said. "This is the current situation." "Whatever mandate the people give, whatever the will of the people is, that will is manifested in the parliament," Mahat said, "that parliament will advance the issues of necessary reforms and constitutional reforms."

According to him, ifthe elections are not held on February 21, the process of re-establishing the parliament will proceed. "If not now, the parliament will go on the path of re-establishment. "Parliament will form the government," he said, "and it will hold elections again soon." There is no need to wait until 2084, elections will be held in 2083.'' Mentioning that it would be dangerous to have a vacuum in the constitutional structure for a long time, he said that Nepal should learn from the recent situation in neighboring Bangladesh.
