Home circular to arrest bank employees who go door-to-door to collect loans

Kathmandu. The Ministry of Home Affairs has directed the Chief District Officer CDOs across the country to take action against the employees of banks and financial institutions who physically and mentally torture, misbehave or create illegal pressure on common people during debt collection.

According to the decision of the Council of Ministers on the 12th of August, the Ministry issued a circular to all the district administration offices and instructed them to control the illegal activities in the name of debt recovery and to take action against the persons and organizations involved in such activities in accordance with the prevailing law.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has said that the circular was issued during the implementation of the agreement reached on August 6 between the Government of Nepal and the 'Rash, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Civil Protection Campaign'. In the letter signed by Dinesh Neupane, Branch Officer of the Ministry, unlimited and illegal activities during debt recovery are clearly prohibited.
