GPS connectivity in long distance vehicles
Kathmandu. The traffic police has implemented a new system to install GPS in long-distance vehicles from Wednesday. The police have started installing CCTV and dashboard cameras on vehicles plying in Kathmandu Valley.
This type of arrangement has been made for the safety of all types of passenger-carrying public transport vehicles in coordination with transport professionals.
Police Superintendent and Information Officer of Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office Nareshraj Subedi informed that discussions, coordination and agreement have been made with stakeholders and businessmen for this.
CCTV cameras are going to be installed to maintain safety from criminal activities such as accident investigation, road safety, theft, pickpocketing, etc., he said.
