Farmers and tourism professionals are excited when it snows
Mustang. Due to climate change, the Himalayan district of Mustang, which has not received good snow for three consecutive years, has received snow this year. It has been snowing steadily since this morning. Often, the snow that should fall at the end of November has already fallen in October. The people of Mustang had not seen heavy snowfall for a few years. Because of this, there was a negative impact on agriculture, tourism and biodiversity here. This year, snowfall has occurred at an altitude of three thousand meters above sea level. It is snowing in Muktinath and upper Mustang and above Basti and Uchalek.
Snowfall has not stopped in the famous religious place Muktinath Temple and its surrounding areas. Waragung Mukti Kshetra-3 is continuously raining in the settlements in the lower area from Chusang, while it is snowing in the upper reaches of the settlements. The trails have been blocked due to heavy snowfall in places including Thoranglapas trail through Manang, Namukhlek to Mesokondo pass trail leading through Jomsom, Thini to Tilicho and Dhampus peak trail of Dhaulagiri Icefall.
The Korla road in Upper Mustang is also passable when it snows. The local administration has already published a public notice and requested not to travel on the high tourist trails. Due to the heavy snowfall in the Muktinath area here, the pilgrims who visit Muktinath are in danger. During the rain and snowfall, the pilgrims visiting Muktinath have suffered due to the snow.
