Everyone should unite in the preservation of Lumbini's archaeological heritage: Vice President Lama

Mediabaji.com Kathmandu Ashwin 30. Lumbini. Vice President of Lumbini Development Fund. Lharkyal Lama (Khenpo Chime Tshiring) has said that everyone should work together to protect all the archaeological sites including Lumbini.

Welcoming the representatives of various countries who came to Lumbini on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of ECOMUS International (The International Council on Monuments and Sites) on Wednesday, he said that common commitment is necessary for the preservation and enhancement of heritage.

The Vice President Lama mentioned that Buddha's teaching is not only for Buddhists but for the benefit of the entire human world and said that through meditation and compassion, suffering-free life is possible. "Buddha's teaching is a kind of science, which can be adopted by all human beings," he said.

On that occasion, the Goodwill Ambassador of Lumbini Development Fund Vikram Panekaji informed that the concept of 'Mayandevi Sutkeri Marg' has been taken forward for the development of Lumbini. He said that Mayandevi's journey after Buddha's birth can be linked with tourism. Panekaji emphasized that everyone should join hands in the development of Nepal's tourism.

It has been reported that ECOMUS has national committees, 31 scientific committees and 12,715 expert members from 137 countries in 117 countries around the world.
