Demand of the transport industry from the government to implement the tax exemption continuously and uniformly
Kathmandu. The National Federation of Nepal Transport Professionals has demanded from the government to implement the 60 percent tax discount that the transport sector is getting continuously and consistently. The Federation has sent a letter to the Department of Transportation and drew serious attention to the delay in the implementation of past decisions.
According to the federation, according to the decision made in 2076, it was agreed to give 60% discount on annual tax, route permit and inspection pass to transport businessmen. Although this system has been in force for a long time, the businessmen complain that as the country moved to a federal structure, there is inequality in its implementation in different provinces. According to the constitution, after the authority of the transport sector has been transferred to the provincial and local levels, some provinces have reduced the rate of this discount to 45 percent, while in others, different arrangements have been implemented.
