Completed the Seven Summits with artificial legs: Hari Budhamgar buried the Nepali flag on the summit of Antarctica
Britain. Bringing to life the message that 'dreams are impossible without any part of the body', Hari Budhamgar has completed climbing the seven summits (highest peaks of the seven continents) which are considered to be the most difficult in the world. On the 22nd of January, he achieved a historic achievement with the successful ascent of Mt. Vinson (4,892 meters) in Antarctica in a temperature of minus 25 degrees.
Former Gurkha Hari Budhamgar, who lost both legs below the knee, has set a new record by climbing the highest peaks of the seven continents of the world with the help of artificial legs. Born in Mirul, a remote village in Rolpa, 46-year-old Hari has become an inspirational symbol of courage, patience and confidence for the world community today.
Narrating his experience, he said, "Fingers were freezing due to the strong wind and severe cold. The face was burning from the cold. Many times I doubted myself. I, who do not believe in God, was also praying for success."
According to him, the seemingly impossible goal became possible due to self-confidence, continuous practice and determination not to give up.
"This achievement did not come easily," he said, "I am a man who came back after defeating death in war. Every task in life is challenging, but it takes faith to overcome it."
He said that he wants to inspire people with different abilities to realize their strengths and move towards their dreams.
Earlier, Budhamgar had climbed Everest (8,848.86 m) on 19 May 2023, Kilimanjaro (5,895 m) in Africa on 8 January 2020, Mont Blanc (4,809 m) in France on 13 August 2019, Punchakjayu in New Guinea (4,884 m), Denali in Alaska (6,190 m) on 28 June 2024 and on 22 February 2025.
