Commission conducting the National Assembly and House of Representatives elections simultaneously
Kathmandu. The Election Commission has simultaneously intensified the preparations for the National Assembly and the House of Representatives elections. The commission has already appointed the district judge as the election officer for the National Assembly member election to be held on January 11, and has also announced the agenda for the proportional system for the House of Representatives election.
As the deadline for submission of closed list of candidates by the political parties willing to participate in proportional representation is approaching, the commission has said that necessary administrative and technical preparations have been made. According to the commission, 93 political parties have applied to be in the proportional list for the election of members of the House of Representatives.
The commission has also provided training to the political parties to make it easy for them to select candidates according to the proportional system. According to the commission, the inclusion percentage, group representation and legal standards determined on the basis of the new census were informed through the training.
