After the introduction of urban culture, the originality of the village started to disappear
Baglung. There are few rural areas in Baglung that are not connected by roads. Some villages are in the process of being connected. After being connected by roads, the rural areas are gradually developing, but the originality is being broken. The Madhyapahari folk road connected from Chiobhanjyang in East Panchthar to Zhulaghat in Baitadi, Kaligandaki Corridor connecting China (India) and Saljhandi (Dhorpatan Road connecting the Terai mountains) are connecting hundreds of villages and settlements of Baglung and remote villages are becoming accessible.
After the national and branch roads reach the villages, the lifestyle of the citizens is also changing. Settlements are expanding rapidly around the roads, but the originality of the structures being built recently is disappearing.
Tamankhola rural municipality, known as an original village (3) Taman village was connected by a road in 2067. Due to the road, many of the original heritages here have been destroyed. Run Bahadur Roka, a local, said that although the road has developed a lot in the village, the old heritages have not been preserved.
Roka said that after cars started to drive in the village daily, the locals began to tolerate the city market and started building houses in the same way. According to Roka, many people have started to use imported colors after changing the appearance of houses made with red clay and white clay.
He said, "The road connected the village with the city market, connected it with development, but our original culture and tradition is slowly breaking down. The road has dried up the source of water, the streets to kill fatigue have disappeared, and the place of worship has disappeared. Now the behavior of foreign countries has entered the village, the villagers have started to forget the originality, the old traditions remain as long as we are here, the generations after us do not preserve them, they are only interested in the imported rituals and culture."
