Kathmandu. Leader Rajendra Gautam, who was a candidate for the post of Deputy General Secretary in the ongoing 11th National Congress of Nepal Communist Party UML, has withdrawn his candidature. Leader Gautam, who is also the head of UML's propaganda department, issued a press release today and said that he has announced the withdrawal of his candidature.
After party president KP Sharma Oli was not named in the party's official group, he registered his candidacy to compete independently for the post of deputy general secretary. He said that even though he withdrew from the post of deputy secretary general, his candidacy for the open central member post is still standing. Voting process is going on today at Bhrikutimandap for the selection of new leadership of UML.
