4 hundred and 24 people died in nine months due to disaster in Nepal
Kathmandu. Disasters have caused huge loss of human wealth in Nepal since last May till now. According to the statistics released by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, a total of 5,966 disaster incidents have occurred throughout the country during this period.
424 people lost their lives and 1,643 people were injured in these incidents. According to the authority, 38 people are still missing and 11,535 families have been directly affected. Among the various forms of disaster, the most dangerous situation is fire. In 2,692 fire incidents across the country, 75 people have died and 2,996 families have been displaced.
Similarly, 71 people lost their lives in 577 landslides during monsoon. According to the authority, there have been significant human losses due to floods, heavy rains, lightning, snake bites, forest fires, storms and animal attacks.
