2570th Buddha Jayanti celebrated around the world: Commemoration of Gautama Buddha, the pioneer of peace

Kathmandu. The 2570th birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha, the bearer of the age-old message that 'non-violence is the cornerstone of peace and friendship', the forerunner of peace, is being celebrated today with various programs across the country. This festival, which is celebrated every year on the full moon day of Baisakh Shukla, is celebrated by Buddhists with special reverence as the trinity of Buddha's birth, enlightenment and Mahaparinirvana death.

Devotees are thronging the Chaityas, Gumbas and Viharas across the country to worship, worship and listen to the sermons of Buddha, who is also worshiped as the ninth incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

From Lumbini to Swayambhu special charm

A special ceremony has been organized today at Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Similarly, devotees have been present in the famous Buddhist places like Swayambhu, Buddh, Namobuddha etc. in Kathmandu since morning. Buddhist religious leaders and lamas prayed for world peace according to the traditional method.
