Kathmandu. The government has disbursed Rs 48 lakh 58 thousand for the medical expenses of those who were injured during the 'Jenji' movement. Based on the preliminary report of the Ministry of Health and Population, the amount has been sent to be distributed to each injured person at the rate of Rs 20,000. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, funds have been sent to Jhapa, Morang, Sunsari, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Kaski, Surkhet, Kailali and Dadeldhura in the first phase.

After classification by the Technical Committee, the Council of Ministers made a decision on October 12th to arrange appropriate relief funds based on the classification of the injured. So far, the Ministry of Health has provided the details of 2,429 injured persons to the Ministry of Home Affairs. During the demonstration on 23rd and 24th of August, ID cards have also been distributed for the identification of the injured persons and for the provision of easy and effective treatment. Home has sent two thousand 876 identity cards to the concerned district administration office. 38 ID cards have been distributed from the hospital.

Hospitals have been designated for re-treatment of injured persons and Gen-G Clinic has been brought into operation in those hospitals. In this way, arrangements have been made for free movement of the wounded who are going to be treated again, the Ministry of Home Affairs has informed. For the treatment of the injured, the Ministry of Health has arranged a 'hotline' and has also appointed a contact person for facilitation. A technical committee is being formed in the Ministry of Health to classify the injured based on their condition. The representatives of the injured will also join this committee. The government is providing free treatment to the injured of the Genji movement. According to the Ministry of Health, more than one billion rupees have been spent on the treatment of the injured.
