168 inmates of Bhimfedi Jail are still absconding
Bagmati. Among those who absconded from the Bhimfedi Regional Jail in Makwanpur, 272 prisoners have returned to the jail while 168 prisoners are still absconding. Subas Poudel, the head of the prison, informed that out of the 440 prisoners who escaped after breaking down the prison wall on the night of August 24, 272 prisoners have returned to the prison till this morning.
Chief Paudel said that 272 of those who escaped from the prison and 37 of those who escaped from other prisons have returned to Bhimphedi Prison. According to Chief Paudel, among those who escaped, 168 inmates of Bhimfedi prison are still absconding. Out of 39 escaped foreign prisoners, 13 have returned to prison and 26 are still absconding.
Chief Paudel said that during the search for the escaped prisoners, the security personnel arrested them from different places and sent them to the prison.
Pushkar Bogti, Spokesperson of Makwanpur District Police Office, said that the search for escaped prisoners has been intensified.
