Rains and landslides affected a dozen roads, nine highways were completely blocked

Kathmandu. Various major highways and road sections of the country have been affected due to landslides and road erosion along with incessant rain. Nepal Police released the details till 6:00 am this morning and said that nine road sections were completely blocked.

According to the police, all types of vehicles have been banned from 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM in Khurkot-Nepalthok-Katunjebensi road section of BP Highway connecting Kavrepalanchok-Sindhuli in view of the possible flood risk. All types of vehicles have been banned from 5:00 pm to 5:00 am throughout the rainy season in Kanti Lokpath.

The road has been completely blocked due to mudslide on the Mechi Highway located in Ilam Municipality-9 Rajduwali. Arani highway has been completely blocked due to landslides in Jirokilo and Kodari areas of Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality of Sindhupalchok.
