A pregnant woman gave birth to a child in the middle of the road in Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality of Bajura. 26-year-old Doila Bhandari of Ward No. 2 Bhaisagad of the same municipality gave birth to a child in the middle of the road. She gave birth on the way while going to the health institution to give birth after having labor pains. Bhandari had to give birth on the way when the health facility was far away. Bhandari gave birth to a daughter as her third child. He also has two daughters.

She gave birth to a child on the way with the help of health workers while going from the village to the basic health post in Fayal village. Visna Rokaya, a health worker at Fayal village basic health post, informed that Bhandari had a baby girl on the way while being taken to the health institution for delivery.

According to him, Bhandari gave birth to a child at a place called Thumka Siund as she could not reach the health facility. Rokaya, a health worker, informed that the delivery was made on the way after the pain increased. It is said that they stopped the health workers who were providing maternity services on the way. Now the condition of mother and child is normal.

With the support of the local people and the activeness of health worker Rokaya, the pregnant woman Bhandari gave birth safely. Rokaya, a health worker, took necessary precautions and helped the baby to be delivered safely near the roadside cowshed.

Local Keshav Bhandari said that due to the problem of access to health care in remote places, the problem of giving birth on the road is getting worse.

According to him, even though the leadership in Bajura has changed many times, Bajura has not changed. Due to the distance of health institutions from the village and lack of transportation facilities, mothers in remote areas are forced to give birth on the road.

Health worker Vishna Rokaya, who managed to save the lives of mothers and babies by serving patiently in difficult situations, has been praised. It is clear that there is a need to make maternal and child health services more convenient and accessible in rural and remote areas.
