Kathmandu. Former king Gyanendra Shah has expressed his dissatisfaction with the current political situation of the country and said that the system that has bad aspects should be thrown away.
In a video message released on Wednesday on the occasion of the 74th National Democracy Day, he opined that it is not appropriate to go to the elections in the country's dire situation and without solving the national problems.
Commenting on the unnatural situation of the country and being caught in the chaos, former King Shah stressed that the good aspects of any system should be taken and the bad aspects should be discarded. He opined that only a system that matches the nature of the country and the society can give positive results. Although periodical elections are natural in a democracy, he questioned the validity of elections in the current situation. According to him, the current public sentiment should be focused on solving the country's crisis before the elections.
