Kathmandu. The government is going to implement new taxes and additional charges on various goods and services from the beginning of the new financial year i.e. from 1st July. With the aim of strengthening internal revenue collection and raising financial resources, the tax scope has been expanded in seven main areas such as education, health, electricity, gold and silver, ride sharing, casino and deluxe hotel-resort.

The direct impact of this new tax policy has been seen from the general public to various businesses, so that it is certain that even the basic services of daily consumption will become more expensive in the market. It has been analyzed that the monthly budget of the middle class families of the country will be greatly affected due to the added tax on sensitive and essential services, especially education, health and electricity.

According to the new arrangement, private educational institutions will now have to pay an additional 3 percent tax on the monthly fees they collect from students.
