Kathmandu. The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has filed a charge sheet against Thakur Prasad KC, chief investigation officer of the National Investigation Department, in the special court in Kathmandu on the charge of entering and being promoted in the government service by submitting fake educational certificates.

According to the authority, KC had submitted false and fake educational qualification certificate of high school level issued by Board of High School and Intermediate Education under Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad, Uttar Pradesh.

Based on that certificate, he was appointed as an assistant inspector in the National Investigation Department at that time and later submitted the same certificate for promotions and promotions, the authority said.

According to the Commission, KC was promoted to Senior Research Assistant in 2066, Research Officer in 2073 and Chief Research Officer in 2081 based on the same certificate. 

According to the commission, the act of appointment and promotion in the government service by submitting fake educational certificate is an offense under Section 12 of the former Anti-Corruption Act, 2017 and Sub-section 1 of Section 16 of the existing Anti-Corruption Act, 2059.

The commission has filed a charge sheet in the special court in Kathmandu on Wednesday demanding imprisonment and fine in accordance with Section 12 and Section 2 of Section 29 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2017 and Section 910 of Section 16 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 2059.
