Kathmandu. CPN-UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that the events of August 23 and 24 have pushed the country towards regression. On Monday, in the dialogue program organized in the context of the 11th National Congress of CPN-9UML0 and contemporary national politics, he said that the events of August 23 and 24 have taken the country towards regression and injured the constitution, and said that in such a situation, the country needs to be returned to the constitution.

He said, "After the events of August 23 and 24, the country is not moving forward, but moving towards backwardness and regression." The constitution based on the sovereign power that the people gained through a long struggle has been injured. The People's Representative Body, elected by the people, has been dissolved. According to our party, both of these actions are unconstitutional. In such a situation, there is a need to return the country to the Constitution.

Similarly, he also said that the party believes that it is not possible for this government to prove itself in the Constitutional Council by saying that the current government can complete other tasks only after it is passed to the Constitutional Council.
