Two thousand 692 people in traffic action
Kathmandu. In the past 24 hours, 2,692 drivers have been prosecuted for violating traffic rules. From this, revenue of Rs. 760,000 has been deposited in the state treasury. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 91 people who were intoxicated, 63 vehicles that were taken out of the road even though the mechanical condition was not good, 224 people who violated traffic signals and 132 people who were speeding vehicles were punished.
Similarly, 237 who did not follow lane discipline, 47 who operated public vehicles without closing their doors, 78 who honked in prohibited areas, 40 who violated the rules of boarding and alighting passengers at designated places, and 1,780 people who did not follow other traffic rules were punished.
