Two games in NPL today, pressure to win Pokhara and Chitwan for playoffs

Kathmandu. Two important matches are being played today under the second edition of Nepal Premier League NPL at Tribhuvan University International Cricket Stadium. Today's first match will be between Pokhara Avengers and Kathmandu Gorkhaz at 11:45 and Sudurpaschim Royals and Chitwan Rhinos will face each other at 4:00 pm.

Pokhara Avengers, who are in the race for the playoffs, have collected four points from five games, so they are under pressure to win today's game to keep their playoff chances alive. Kathmandu Gorkhaz has collected eight points from 6 games. In the next match, Sudurpaschim Royals, who are on the top spot with 10 points and have qualified for the playoffs, will face Chitwan Rhinos. Chitwan, who have collected only four points from five matches, must win today's match to qualify for the playoffs.

So far only Far West is undefeated in NPL with eight teams participating. Sudoor has won all five matches played. Became the first team to reach the far playoffs.  Kathmandu Gorkhaz is in second place with 8 points in 6 games. Biratnagar is in third place with 8 points after winning 4 matches out of 6 matches. Pokhara Avengers is in 4th place with 6 points in 6 games. Chitwan Rhinos is in fifth place with 4 points from 5 games. 

Lumbini Lions is in sixth place with 4 points from 5 matches. Karnali Yaks is in seventh place with 2 points in 6 games. Former champion Janakpur is at the bottom with 2 points from only 5 games.

Lumbini Lions dominated over Biratnagar Kings in the 22nd match 
After defeating Biratnagar Kings in the 22nd match of Nepal Premier League NPL T20 cricket, Lumbini Lions maintained the possibility of reaching the playoffs. After defeating Biratnagar by 5 wickets, Lumbini reached the fourth place. 

Chasing a challenge of 145 runs for victory, Lumbini completed 17 overs in 4 balls with the loss of 5 wickets. 

Darchi Short scored 57 runs off 44 balls for Lumbini. Similarly, Niroshan Dikewala scored 29 runs unbeaten in 22 balls. 

Earlier, after winning the toss, Lumbini chose to bowl and Biratnagar scored 144 runs for the loss of 8 wickets.
