Trump's son-in-law to attend secret nuclear talks between Iran and US in Oman

Main News Image

Kathmandu. Iran is preparing to hold indirect nuclear talks with the US in Muscat, Oman next Friday. According to the Iranian media Tasnim, the talks will mainly focus on the nuclear issue and the lifting of sanctions on Iran. The Iranian delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and the team will also include senior diplomats Majid Takht-Bhavanchi and Kazim Gharibadi.

Accoding to the information provided by American diplomat Steve Witkopf, former President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner is also likely to participate in the talks this time, who is viewed with great interest in world politics.

Tehran has refused to discuss any discussion of its missile program or defense capabilities, insisting that talks should be limited to nuclear issues. Last year, five rounds of talks were held under the leadership of Araghchi and Witkopf, but the sixth round of talks was halted due to Israeli bombings. Now again, the talks are going to be held in Muscat amidst the growing tension between the two countries. The talks are about to take place at a time when the United States is increasing pressure by deploying a warship group in the Middle East after the recent suppression of anti-government protests in Iran.
