Treatment of three crore 2.4 million liters of waste water daily from Guhyeshwari sewage treatment plant
Kathmandu. The Guhyeshwari sewage treatment plant located in Guhyeshwari district is processing 30 million 24 lakh liters of waste water daily. In order to keep the rivers and environment of Kathmandu Valley clean, construction of more treatment centers is necessary, and the construction of such centers has been accelerated in other places of the valley as well.
According to the head of the center, Ram Kumar Shrestha, construction of new sewage treatment centers is currently underway in Sallaghari, Kodku, Dhobighat, Gokarna and Hanumanghat. Shrestha said that in order to fully and effectively use the capacity of the treatment center, separate pipe systems are needed for waste water and rain water, so coordination is being done with the local levels.
