Dharan. With the beginning of Tihar, the streets of Dharan are not only bright with lights, but also with the efforts of traders. Bikki Das of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City (2) has been selling raisins, coconuts, sweets, twinkling lights and packets of ginger in the main market Bhanuchok Ghantghar area from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. He said, "More customers come in the morning and evening. Fewer customers come in the afternoon because it is hot. Now, daily business is between 15,000 and 20,000."

Now, hundreds of traders are busy in every corner of the market. The bazaar is full of colors, fragrances and glitter with the sale of materials needed for Tihar including lamps, colours, sweets, raisins, clay pots for worship, lights.

The streets of Dharan are now shining with the splendor of Tihar. Small traders in the main market, who sell sweetmeats, raisins, lamps and abeer, are more numerous. Local traders are earning their income by doing business up to 20,000 per day. On the occasion of Tihar, glitter is seen everywhere. There is a rush of shoppers. Lights, sweet spices and flowers adorn the market. Tihar, which is known as the second biggest festival of Nepali after Dashain, is considered as a festival of flowers, colors and lights along with musical festival.
