Today is Federal Parliament Service Day

Kathmandu. Federal Parliament Service Day is being celebrated with various programs on the 28th of November every year in memory of the separation from the civil service and the formation of the autonomous Parliament Service. In the year 2058, the Parliament Service was formed from the Civil Service. The Federal Parliament Secretariat has organized various programs on the occasion of the day. Article 207 of the Constitution of Nepal stipulates that there shall be a secretariat to operate and manage the activities of the federal parliament and the establishment of such secretariat and other related provisions shall be in accordance with the federal law.

The Parliament Service is a specialized, autonomous and professional service, governed by a separate Act carved out of the Civil Service Act. Parliament Service Day is celebrated every year on November 28 to commemorate the formation of Parliament Service by a separate act to make parliamentary practice more effective, dignified and professional. The role of the Parliamentary Service, which provides administrative and technical support to the Federal Parliament, which is the highest representative body of the state, is very important in the successful implementation of the Constitution and the law-making process.

The task of the Federal Parliament Secretariat has been to provide the necessary manpower, information, technology, material materials etc. to the Parliament. The specific work system of the Parliament Service has provided uninterrupted assistance in legislative work and parliamentary functioning.
