Christians celebrate this day as a celebration of love, peace and salvation in memory of Jesus Christ, who was born in Bethlehem, Israel 2025 years ago. According to the Nepal Christian Federation, there is a tradition of celebrating this day in three forms, Umukti Diwasu, Uprem Diwasu and Ushanti Diwasu.

Shopping malls, hotels and restaurants in major cities are decorated with Christmas trees and colorful lights. People from the Christian community gather in the church to pray together, exchange gifts and exchange good wishes.

High government officials and human rights activists will also be present in the program. According to the Mahasangh's claim, there are currently about 3 million Christians and more than 13,000 active churches in Nepal.
