The Supreme Court spoke about the arrest of former Chief Justice Jabara

Kathmandu. The Supreme Court said that the former Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Jabara was arrested from his home at midnight and kept in the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku for about 10 hours.

The emergency full meeting of the Supreme Court took the incident of Nepal Police officers picking up the former Chief Justice Jabara while he was sleeping at home and taking him to Teku and handing him over to his family about 10 hours later as a serious matter.

In a press release issued by Supreme Court Spokesman and City Magistrate Arjun Prasad Koirala on Monday, the Supreme Court has mentioned that the constitution of Nepal has adopted an independent, impartial and competent judiciary as the basic value of a democratic governance system.
