The search for those missing in Yalung Ri mountain climbing has been suspended, five people are still missing
Ramechhap. The search for climbers who went missing in the avalanche that occurred last Monday while climbing the Yalung Ri mountain in Rolwaling area of Dolakha has been suspended. Out of the seven missing people, only two bodies have been found and the status of the remaining five is still unknown.
According to the commander of the search and rescue team, Pasang Kidar Sherpa, it has been decided to suspend the search for the time being as the snow is too hard to dig out. Five people, including two Nepalis, are missing in the avalanche, now there is no possibility that they will survive.
It has been confirmed that one of the two bodies found during the search is Menfedi Cristina Andre from France and Paulo Coco from Italy. According to the rescue team, it is not possible to search for the missing in this season.
On October 11th, a group of 15 people with guides and climbers reached the 5,630-meter-high Yalung Ri mountain under Rolwaling area under Gourishankar Rural Municipality (9) of Dolakha. On October 17th, they left the base camp at 4:00 a.m. for the peak.
Out of the seven missing since the same day, the search and rescue operation launched on Tuesday rescued eight people safely. Although the bodies of two foreigners were found during the search, the condition of five people is still unknown.
