The road department has formed a 'task force', 155 equipments to remove landslides from the highway
Kathmandu. With the onset of monsoon, 155 equipments have been mobilized in different sections of highways across the country to remove landslides. An additional 122 devices have been deployed. Under the road department, the mechanical department has arranged equipment to be able to move the landslides on the highways where there is a risk of landslides. There are a total of 277 devices under the branch.
Shyam Bahadur Khadka, Deputy Director General and Spokesperson of the Roads Department, said that equipment has been sent to places to temporarily manage highways blocked by landslides during winter. "Equipment has been sent to various sections of highways that are at risk of being blocked by landslides and kept in readiness," he said.
Under the road department, a 'task force' has been formed under the coordination of the head of the road division and the relevant planning department to operate the blocked traffic keeping in mind the disaster management in various districts.
