Kathmandu. On the sixth day of Tihar, the second biggest festival of Nepali which is celebrated every year on the day of Kartik Shukla Dwiya, brothers are receiving Tika from their sisters. According to the tradition, flowers are garlanded with saptarangi or pancharangi tika, makhamli, saipatri or Godavari.

It is a religious and social tradition that after tika, sisters give their brothers food such as walnuts, katus, masala and selroti, and brothers show their respect by giving clothes and dakshinas symbols of good luck to their sisters.
