Kathmandu. The government has decided to purchase seven lakh electronic passports from the current supplier for the interim period. The cabinet meeting held at Sinh Darwar on Friday decided to give approval to the passport department to purchase seven lakh electronic passports from the current supplier company through a variation order for the interim period until the passports are issued according to the new agreement.
Jagdish Kharel, the Minister of Communications, has informed that the government has started preparations for the purchase of electronic passports for the interim period instead of the management with the French company whose contract has been canceled due to the increasing shortage of passports.
