The government backed down after public pressure: 3 percent equalization fee imposed on education and health was abolished

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balen Shah has said that it has been decided not to implement the 3 percent tax imposed on the health and education sectors. On Tuesday, through social media, Prime Minister Shah said that if the 3 percent equalization fee imposed on the private education and health sector is implemented in the current situation, the common people will have to face additional expenses and disappointment.

According to Prime Minister Shah, if the 3 percent equalization fee is implemented immediately in private schools, colleges, hospitals and health institutions, the direct burden will fall on students, parents and patients. After consultation with Swarnim Wagle, it was decided not to impose the fee.
