The economic growth rate of the current fiscal year is expected to be limited to three and a half percent
Kathmandu. The government has predicted that the country's economic growth will be limited to 3.5 percent. This projection has been made in the half-yearly review of the current financial year's budget. The annual growth rate of the current year's gross domestic product was estimated to be six percent.
A new projection has been released in the half-yearly review, with the economic growth rate shrinking to 3.5 percent due to the decline in rice production, area and productivity, the slowdown in the construction sector and the decline in real estate transactions. In the last year, the growth rate of gross domestic product is estimated to be 4.6 percent.
According to the half-yearly evaluation report of the budget, the preliminary estimate is that the gross domestic product has increased by three percent in the basic price during the first quarter of the current year. In the same period of last year, the revised estimate is that such increase in basic price of gross domestic product is 2.9 percent.
