Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has said that elements are active to prevent the House of Representatives elections to be held on February 21. Addressing a press conference at the party central office Sanepa, Congress spokesperson Devraj Chalise said that the legitimacy of the government is the vote of the people. The Congress says that the government should be determined to hold elections on time, making the strategy of those elements a failure.
He said, "Various factors are taking place to prevent it from happening during the election." The government must be determined and hold elections on time. In a democratic system of government, the source of legitimacy of the government is the people's vote. The democratic party must accept the supremacy of the people. We have accepted it. Similarly, the Congress has demanded the government to ensure an environment in which the upcoming elections will be held in a fair manner. The Congress has said that it is the natural right of the people to vote in a fair and impartial environment.
