The Commission is working to conduct clean elections: Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari

Kathmandu. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Ram Prasad Bhandari has said that the Election Commission is working to conduct clean, fair and credible elections. In the interaction program organized by the commission on Thursday with officials of the diplomatic mission in Nepal, he informed that the election preparations have reached the final stage.

Officials of diplomatic mission in Nepal were present in the program. Krishna Bahadur Raut, secretary of the commission, said that election code of conduct monitoring committees have been formed in the districts to conduct fair elections. Mentioning that voter education programs are being conducted in all 6,743 wards of 753 local levels, he informed the officials of the diplomatic mission that in order to make the elections transparent, political parties and candidates must open bank accounts for election expenses.

Gyanhari Ghimire, Joint Secretary of the Commission, gave a presentation on election preparations. Commission Commissioners Dr. Janaki Kumari Tuladhar and Sagunshamsher Jabara and other high-ranking officials were present on the occasion.
