Kathmandu. Acting Chief Commissioner of Election Commission Ram Prasad Bhandari has said that it is necessary to hold the election of local level and state assembly members at the same time. Speaking at the certificate distribution program to the proportionally elected members of the House of Representatives on Thursday, he expressed the view that both the elections to be held in 2084 should be held on the same date. According to him, by doing this, it is expected that the election expenses will be reduced and the process will be effective.
Bhandari informed that the local level elections should be held within the next 13-14 months and the provincial assembly elections are scheduled for November 2084. He argued that it would be economical if these two elections could be held at the same time.
