Kathmandu. The election program towards the proportional election system for the upcoming House of Representatives election is being conducted from this November 20th. Preparations for the program have been started since the commission established the election officer's office for the proportional election system at the commission's Kantipath office from Sunday. According to the election program approved by the Election Commission, the political parties who want to participate in the system will submit their applications from 10:00 am on November 21st to 4:00 pm on the 23rd.

The list of political parties that submitted applications will be published on November 24th from 10 am to 4 pm. The closed list of candidates will be submitted on January 13th and 14th and the final publication of the closed list of candidates will be made on January 20th. Ramprasad Bhandari, Acting Chief Election Commissioner of the Office of the Election Officer, inaugurated the Proportional Election System.

Mahadev Panth, Secretary of the Commission, as the Election Officer for Proportionality, and Yagya Prasad Bhattarai, Joint Secretary, as the Assistant Election Officer, have taken responsibility. 41 employees will be deployed for proportional election management. Acting Chief Election Commissioner Bhandari expressed his belief that representatives will be selected based on a formulaic method with the help of the National Statistics Office, separating ethnic, geographical, gender, etc. groups according to the law.

According to the existing law, the 275 members of the House of Representatives will be elected by two systems, direct and proportional. In the Assembly, 165 members will be elected directly and the remaining 110 members will be elected through proportional representation. A candidate nomination program has been held at the office of the relevant election officer on the 6th of January for the direct election system to be elected first.
