Kathmandu. Arjun Chandravanshi of Barahkshetra Municipality-9 Sri Lanka tappu has got his four sons involved in agriculture. He has been cultivating vegetables including sheep for about two decades and has made agriculture the main source of income for his family.

Vegetables such as lamb, cabbage, bodi are produced in his farm throughout the year. Arjun's four sons, Ram Vilas, Lakshman, Sriram and Jadulal Chandravanshi, have taken to the agricultural profession in the footsteps of their father. "Sons used to say to go abroad, I didn't let them go abroad because I would give Rs 50,000 in Nepal. Now all my sons can earn lakhs of rupees by staying in Nepal", said Arjun.

He said that he put his four sons in agriculture thinking that he can earn good income by working hard in Nepal instead of going abroad and suffering. Earlier, there were no roads and transport facilities. Farming done in two or four fields had to be carried on the head to the market. Now a trader comes with a car in the garden.
