The baby who was sent home as dead by Veri Hospital is alive, the hospital has apologized
Kathmandu. It has been revealed that the Bheri Hospital in Nepalganj, Banke sent the baby home alive as dead. According to the incident report, a pregnant woman who was admitted to the labor ward of the hospital on November 25 gave birth to a baby on November 28. The doctor declared that the baby, weighing only 617 grams, had died on the 29th and handed over the body to relatives and sent it home.
However, about four hours after the relatives took them home, the family took them to the hospital again after getting signs that the baby was alive. However, the baby died shortly after being taken to the hospital. The hospital administration has apologized for the incident. Chief Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Nirajan Subedi, issued a press release on Friday and admitted that there was weakness on the part of the doctor.
The hospital family has expressed sympathy for the pain caused to the family of the child due to the incident. The hospital administration has made an exception to the case of a baby who was declared dead by the doctor and later found alive. It is mentioned in the statement that the 617 gram baby who was born at 23 weeks showed signs of survival very late as an exception.
Although the hospital has tried its best to treat the baby correctly, it has admitted that there is a weakness on behalf of the hospital in consulting the patient's relatives to explain the possible outcome as much as possible. It has also been claimed in the statement that there is no possibility of saving a baby who is less than 28 weeks and weighs less than one kilogram.
